Our Story

i spent the summer of 2016 in peru. the trip was billed as a self exploration and deep dive into my wellbeing. somewhere amongst a seemingly happy and healthy life i had gone astray.

in july i summited the 19k ft mt pisco in the andes mountains, insatiable for an epiphany. nothing came but below summit i contracted an amoeba parasite. the parasite attacked my lower intestine, causing it to inflame and wrap around my colon. unable to eat or drink, i lost 30 lbs in 3 days.

after refusing advances to remove my colon from peruvian and american doctors i found refuge in a variety of plant medicines. pumpkin, garlic, and charcoal to kill the parasite with copious amounts of cannabis oil to reduce the inflammation in my lower intestine.

in healing myself with plant medicines i stumbled upon that epiphany. my friend and business partner, haris fazlani, created MINERAL shortly after i returned from peru. our opportunity to reintroduce our community to plant medicines quickly became our calling and with an extensive amount of hours in the creative space we treated MINERAL like a client, emerging ourselves in cannabis.

for 18 months we grew hemp, extracted oil, and formulated product. after creating the thesis on which we would build MINERAL, we released our first product in december of 2017: a sublingual hemp oil to reduce inflammation. our company has grown but our commitment to maintaining the plant remains unchanged.
